I also see AI assistants as a bridge to tutors - both in the US and overseas. The AI assistant (AIA) will gain lots of insights about the student that uses it. Maybe the first year will be somewhat limited, but by the time a student leaves K12, there will be 13 years of data and this will be very helpful for college. When the AIA does not have a credible response, it will fall through to a human. The AIA will broker who is best suited to answer the question. The human could be a person in the school district or it could be someone in a low-cost part of the world.
